A “Rainbow” is an optical and meteorological phenomenon that causes a spectrum of light to appear in the sky when the Sun shines on to droplets of moisture in the Earth’s atmosphere. It takes the form of a multicoloured arc. Rainbows caused by sunlight always appear in the section of sky directly opposite the sun.
In a “primary rainbow“, the arc shows red on the outer part, and violet on the inner side. This rainbow is caused by light being refracted while entering a droplet of water, then reflected inside on the back of the droplet and refracted again when leaving it.
In a double rainbow, a second arc is seen outside the primary arc, and has the order of its colours reversed, red facing toward the other one, in both rainbows. This second rainbow is caused by light reflecting twice inside water droplets.
“All I Ask Is That You Treat Me No Differently Than You Would The Queen” ~Anonymous
“There is no use trying, said Alice; one can’t believe impossible things. I dare say you haven’t had much practice, said the Queen. When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.” ~Lewis Carroll
I also like a Band called Queen. They sing some of my favorite songs!
I had to think long and hard to find my favorite “N” word. It didn’t just come to me like with other letters.
I was happy to come up with the word “Neighborhood” :
an area within a city or town that has some distinctive features (especially one forming a community); “an ethnic neighborhood”
A neighborhood or neighbourhood (see spelling differences) is a geographically localized community within a larger city, town or suburb. Neighborhoods are often social communities with considerable face-to-face interaction among members.
And thinking about the word neighborhood I got these long ago memories of Mr. Rogers and his song: “Won’t you be my neighbor?”.
My favorite “J” word is Jonathan. Jonathan is the name of my son. And then there is Jessica, another favorite word. I have several favorite people in my life named Jessica…that would be… Jonathan’s fiance Jessica and my oldest niece Jessica.
I also love the word Journey which has several definitions, my favorite being passage or progress from one stage to another: the Journey to success. I feel that my life is a constant Journey.
